Lisbon - Inspira Santa Marta Hotel Review

Flight to Somewhere rating:
Inspira Santa Marta hotel Lisbon

The room

Inspira Santa Marta is a 4-star hotel located about midway between the Old Town and Parque Eduardo VII, so it's a good base for exploring in both directions, either on foot or by metro.

The hotel is in an old building, but don't let that fool you - on the inside, it's all contemporary style. The rooms are stylish, with cork floors and modern furnishings. Loved the unusual shower - the bathroom is open-space and located behind the glass wall on the photo! The light switch had a menu and you could alternate between the brighter reading lighting or dimmer options.

The street is quiet, and the room I stayed at (207) had virtually no street noise. At the same time, it's right next to Avenida da Liberdade with its high end boutiques - Armani and Prada are just round the corner. There are also a couple of small supermarkets nearby and some cafes to venture out to for breakfast in case you decide not to have it in the hotel. A bit farther away are some great restaurants for dinner.

The ladies at the reception were very friendly as was the lady in the spa area. It was nice to be able to relax in the sauna and hot tub after a long day sightseeing.

My only niggle would be that whenever someone in neighbouring rooms opened the taps, we could hear water rushing through the pipes very loudly. Not sure if this problem is only limited to our room though, and the hotel responded on TripAdvisor saying my comment would be passed on to housekeeping.
