TENERIFE
Iberostar Bouganville Playa is a 4-star hotel in Costa Adeje, Tenerife. It is newly refurbished (newly as in still fresh and shiny in 2018), which was one of the reasons I decided to book it as the place to stay for my Tenerife holiday. Refurbishment can make a ton of difference when hotels are a few decades old and it's very possible that your room will be better in a refurbished 4-star hotel than in an old 5-star hotel...
Costa Adeje Gran is a massive 5-star hotel in the Costa Adeje area of Tenerife. It is not the first hotel we tried in Costa Adeje, but so far it's our favourite one and the one we are very likely to return to for our next Tenerife vacation.
You enter though an enormous lobby, so from the first moment there is the wow effect. There is a bar to one side and comfy seating areas to another side, which are great for chilling with a book should you feel so inclined...
Dream Gran Tacande is a 5-star hotel in the Costa Adeje area of Tenerife. Stayed in this hotel for a week on half board. The room was huge - standard rooms are 40 sq metres. There was a bathtub and a separate shower and two sinks.
If you are considering whether to go B&B or HB, I urge you to go HB - the food is really lovely. Every night there's a choice of 4-5 types of fish and 4-5 types of meat that you can have prepared for you on the hot plate, and it's absolutely delicious...
Please note this review is out of date - Iberostar have fully renovated this hotel and it was reopened in 2018 as a 5* Iberostar Salome hotel.

I used to work as a rep on Tenerife and out of all hotels we worked with, this one got the most positive feedback from the tourists, so when I decided to go back there to relax for Christmas, Torviscas Playa was an obvious choice. And I must say I wasn't disappointed. The hotel is a 4-star hotel located in Costa Adeje. It is situated right by the sea, so the walk to the beach is very short; however, the pool area is also quite nice and I found myself preferring to stay there rather than go to the sea...
LANZAROTE
This review is based on my first visit to this hotel (2012). It was in a standard room with no Royal Elite upgrade.

Sandos Papagayo Beach Resort is a 4-star hotel located on the edge of Playa Blanca. I chose this hotel based on the excellent reviews on TripAdvisor and I am happy to say it's every bit as good as expected.
The location - the hotel is right on the seashore on the edge of Playa Blanca, which means that as you walk out of the hotel, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the mountains and a short walk through the hills will take you to Playas Papagayo...
This review is based on my second visit to this hotel (2016). The stay was in a Junior Suite, which also includes the Royal Elite package.
Location (obviously), ownership and star rating of the hotel remain unchanged from 2012 - Sandos Papagayo Beach Resort is still a 4-star hotel located on the edge of Playa Blanca. After a good experience the first time, I didn't hesitate to book it again.

GRAN CANARIA
Gloria Palace San Agustin Thalasso & Hotel is a 4-star hotel located in San Agustin. I stayed in this hotel for a week over Easter on all inclusive and have some mixed feelings.
The room was on the 6th floor. It was spacious and had a great sea view. The room had tea/coffee making facilities, which was a pleasant extra. It was modern, with a nice new flatscreen TV and a good selection of channels....
