Bled - Vila Bled Hotel Review

The location is, in my opinion, the best on the lake. It sits within a beautiful park, is very quiet and has a grand staircase leading down to lake Bled and the path around the lake. There are traditional pletna boats at the bottom of the staircase if you want to go and explore the island. Alternatively, you can use the hotel's boats and/or bicycles to explore the area. There are lots of hiking routes, all marked out on the map the hotel gives you.

I had half board with four-course dinners, the food was probably the best I have ever had - it was completely different every day and each course was beautifully presented and delicious. So even if you don't have dinner included, do pay a visit to the restaurant. There is also a cafe called Belvedere in the hotel grounds - also worth a visit as it has lovely views. 

There is a small spa area with a jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and a cold tub. Really enjoyed using that after a long day of hiking.

All the staff were unfailingly polite and helpful and made our stay very memorable!

I stayed at Vila Bled for three nights and loved every moment. We had a lake view suite with a massive terrace (room 107) - the suite itself was also massive with a spacious bedroom and living room. Everything is decorated in keeping with the history of the building, so you can feel like a visiting dignitary or royalty back in the days. The view from the room and terrace is breathtaking - you can see both the island with the church and Bled castle. The bed was comfy and you can change the mattress settings between hard and soft for each half of the bed individually.
